Names stay in this browser and are not sent anywhere.
Add everyone at the table, then pick. The countdown exists for one reason: a name that appears instantly looks like it was decided in advance, and a name that lands after three seconds of counting looks like a draw.
Who deals first
Most card games say the first dealer is chosen at random and then passes to the left. That first choice is the one nobody has a fair way to make, which is why so many tables end up cutting for high card and arguing about aces.
Never the same name twice
Turn on the repeat guard and the last name drawn is held out of the next draw. Useful when the picker is deciding who fetches something rather than who starts, because true randomness will happily pick the same person three times running.
